What We’re Doing for the Community

  • Hot Desks, other shared work surfaces, and lounge seating in common areas are now spaced much farther apart and seating has been significantly reduced to allow each member sufficient space. Partitions will also be placed between pairs of hot desks.
  • Our professional janitorial crew will now visit the space 5 evenings a week, instead of the previous 3, and we’ll likely have a day porter visit the space during business hours to give some extra attention.
  • Hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes will be placed throughout the space for your use.
  • Small meeting room capacity has been reduced to two people per room.
  • We are not renting small meeting rooms or the hot desk area to any outside groups at this time to reduce traffic where possible.
  • The conference room has been converted to temporary Dedicated Desk space to allow those members to work at a safe distance from one another.
  • Coffee, tea, water, and beer service will be altered to be as low touch as possible.
  • Compostable, single-use cups and utensils will be provided. Please deposit in the marked waste basket when finished.
  • Shared meals will not be provided or permitted for the time being (sorry, Flapjack Friday). You can be sure we’ll have the BEST member potluck when this is all over, though!
  • Before our space reopened, we engaged a commercial grade disinfectant service. We will be utilizing electrostatic spray technology coupled with EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant agents. This permits us to disinfect our facility using 60% less chemicals while ensuring complete, 360° coverage. We’re continuing this service weekly through the end of 2020.
  • We’ll be monitoring potential Covid-19 exposures among members and alert the community as soon as information is available including any action you may need to take.

How You’ll Keep the Community Safe

  • MASKS: As required by the Commonwealth, all members and staff must wear masks while in the building. We will have disposable masks available at the front desk if you forget yours on a given day. If you need referrals to sources of reusable masks, please ask.
  • ENTRY: Enter the space, for the first time you visit in a given day, through the Boas Street doors and your temperature will be taken by a st@rtup team member with a touchless thermometer. For you early birds and night owls, please self administer this process and use provided lysol wipes on the thermometer when finished. All members with a temperature at or above 100.4° F (38° C), a fever as defined by the CDC, will be asked to leave and not return until their fever has subsided for at least 24 hours.
  • PHONE BOOTHS: Please use the provided Lysol wipes before and after each use of the phone booths. This includes handles, desk surface, seat, and other touch points.
  • GUESTS: will not be permitted in the space for at least the first couple of weeks that we are open. All members will be notified when essential guests may begin visiting the space again.
  • CHECK-IN/OUT: Using Office RnD’s updated mobile app or member dashboard, please check in & out when using the space. This will help us understand occupancy levels and plan for potential additional changes to keep everyone safe. (A separate email on how to use the check in & check out feature is forthcoming.)
  • RESTROOMS: Please allow only one person to use the restrooms at a time and follow appropriate hygiene and disinfecting procedures after each use. We’ve installed “occupied/vacant” signs on each bathroom door and installed touchless soap dispensers to compliment the touchless paper towel dispensers.
  • Please follow guidelines for safe beverage service.
  • Follow social distancing guidelines and avoid congregating in common areas
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill. We’ll see you on Zoom or Slack until you’re well.
  • Please notify us immediately if you or someone you have been in close contact with tests positive for Covid-19. Close contact is defined by the CDC as being within 6 feet of an individual for 15 minutes or more.
  • Please notify us immediately if you have traveled to an area where a Covid-19 outbreak has occurred.
  • Please limit your access to st@rtup if you are actively traveling outside of Central PA.
